Golden Retriever Portraits at Bermuda Beach in Ocean Beach: A San Diego Sunset Session
I had the pleasure of meeting Zero, a playful and photogenic 1.5-year-old English Golden Retriever, during a beautiful evening shoot at Bermuda Beach in Ocean Beach, San Diego. If you're familiar with Golden Retrievers, you'll notice Zero’s distinctive lighter coat, a hallmark of the English variety. His excitement was infectious from the moment I met him – a true testament to the friendly and outgoing nature of Golden Retrievers!
We arrived at the beach about 30 minutes before sunset, giving us plenty of time to capture some candid moments. Zero immediately made new friends, running around and enjoying the sand and surf. As a dog photographer in San Diego, I love giving pups the freedom to express their personalities, and Zero was a joy to photograph as he frolicked around.
As we got closer to sunset, I set up my flashes and pulled out some training treats to encourage Zero to pose for a few more formal portraits. To my delight, he was incredibly cooperative and became the perfect model, sitting beautifully in front of the breathtaking San Diego sunset. There’s something magical about capturing a dog portrait against the backdrop of a colorful beach sunset, and this session was no exception.
